Product Engineering

From idea to a product people actually use

One senior team takes your idea through discovery, design, build and launch — and stays to scale it. This is how we built theSBKdance, a live events marketplace.

Overview

Product Engineering & MVP Development

Product engineering is the whole job: understanding what you are trying to achieve, designing the product that achieves it, building it properly, shipping it, and then improving it with real users. Most agencies sell you one slice of that. We take the outcome — a working product that your business runs on — and own it end to end.

That matters because the expensive mistakes in software are rarely code mistakes. They are building the wrong thing, building too much before anyone has used it, or building something that cannot grow. Our process is designed to avoid all three: a short discovery phase to nail scope, a focused MVP that ships in weeks, and an architecture that does not need rewriting when you succeed.

We are a small, senior studio based in Darlington, working with founders and businesses across the UK. The people who scope your product are the people who design and build it — no account managers, no hand-offs, no junior bench.

What you get

Delivered as one complete product

Everything a production-grade product needs, built by the same senior team from start to finish.

Discovery & scope

A short, fixed-price discovery that turns your idea into a prioritised feature set, user flows and a realistic first-phase estimate.

Product design

Wireframes and high-fidelity UI for every screen in the MVP, tested with real users before a line of production code is written.

Full-stack build

Web application, API, database and integrations built on a modern, well-supported stack (Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Node.js).

Payments, auth & roles

Stripe billing and subscriptions, secure authentication, and multi-role permissions — the plumbing every real product needs.

Launch & handover

Production hosting, monitoring, documentation and a walkthrough, delivered into repositories you own outright.

Iteration after launch

Two-week sprints driven by what users actually do, with analytics wired in from day one so decisions are based on data.

How we work

From first call to live product

  1. 01

    Discovery (1–2 weeks)

We interview you and, where possible, your future users. Out come user journeys, a scoped MVP, a fixed estimate and a roadmap.

  2. 02

    Design (2–3 weeks)

Clickable prototypes you can put in front of customers. We change things here, where change is cheap.

  3. 03

    Build (6–12 weeks)

Two-week sprints with a live staging link. You see working software every fortnight and steer priorities as we go.

  4. 04

    Launch & grow

We ship, measure, and keep building. Most clients keep us on a flexible monthly basis for new features and support.

Where this fits

Typical projects

Marketplaces & multi-sided platforms

Buyers, sellers, listings, search, payments and payouts — the hardest kind of product to get right, and the one we have shipped.

Startup MVPs

A focused first version that proves the model to customers and investors without burning a year of runway.

Replacing spreadsheets and manual work

Established businesses that have outgrown Excel, email and off-the-shelf tools and need software that fits how they actually operate.

Why InteleForge

What makes the difference

We have shipped a real marketplace

theSBKdance is live in production with ticketing, Stripe payments, maps and organiser dashboards — not a mock-up.

Fixed first-phase pricing

After discovery you get a fixed price for the MVP and a clear roadmap. No open-ended hourly billing.

You own everything

Source code, designs, infrastructure and IP are yours from day one, in your own accounts and repositories.

FAQ

Product Engineering: your questions

Straight answers on cost, timing and how we work.

Most MVPs we build land between £15k and £60k depending on scope, integrations and design complexity. Discovery gives you a fixed estimate for the first phase before you commit to the build.
